Prophet Muḥammad (PBUH) is the final prophet and messenger of Allah, entrusted with the divine mission of guiding humanity, just as the previous prophets were. In fulfilling this sacred duty, he endured immense hardships, demonstrated unparalleled patience, and dedicated his entire life to conveying the message of Islam. His sacrifices and unwavering commitment to this mission exemplify his extraordinary role as the leader of the Ummah. After completing his prophetic mission, he entrusted his followers with the responsibility of continuing the propagation of Islam and upholding his teachings. Given his unparalleled contributions and sacrifices, Prophet Muḥammad (PBUH) has certain rights upon his followers, which they are obligated to fulfill. These rights are not merely theoretical but have practical implications, as outlined in the Qur’ān. Among these, two fundamental aspects are obedience (ṭā‘at) and reverence (ta‘zīm wa takrīm). The Qur’ān repeatedly emphasizes the necessity of following the Prophet’s commands, showing deep respect for his status, and adhering to his Sunnah.
This research aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the practical dimensions of the rights of Prophet Muḥammad (PBUH) as prescribed in the Qur’ān. By examining obedience and reverence from a Qur’ānic perspective, this study seeks to enhance awareness among Muslims regarding their responsibilities towards the Prophet (PBUH). Understanding and implementing these aspects in daily life not only strengthens one’s faith but also ensures adherence to the true essence of Islamic teachings.
