In order for human beings to survive and live on earth, mutual assistance is essential. It is inevitable for humans to depend on one another, as living together is an innate necessity. The world operates on human cooperation, and its needs are constantly growing, requiring every individual to rely on the help of others. For Muslims, the importance of cooperation and assistance among themselves is constantly increasing, along with the need to support non-Muslims. The world today has taken the form of a global village, where all nations and individuals are interdependent, and the economy functions based on these interconnected relationships. In such a world, people face various challenges and difficulties that can impact their autonomy, especially when they require basic rights during natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes. In these situations, individuals face difficulties in obtaining help, which affects their independence.
Islam has encouraged people to cooperate in such times and has provided laws and guidelines for helping one another in acts of goodness and righteousness. The Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him) also sought cooperation from non-Muslims, and his life serves as an exemplary model for us. On numerous occasions, non-Muslims assisted the Prophet, such as when the Najāshī (Negus) helped during the migration to Ḥabashah (Abyssinia), and when Abū Ṭālib, Muṭ‘im ibn ‘Adī, and Umm Ma‘bad offered their support.
