The reform of educational systems is a pivotal aspect of nation-building and social progress, especially when considering the educational framework established during the era of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This study explores the educational requirements of an Islamic state through the lens of the Prophetic biography, focusing on the principles and practices that shaped the early Muslim community’s educational model. It examines the key components of Islamic education as outlined in the Qur'an and Hadith, including the emphasis on knowledge, ethical values, critical thinking, and community involvement. The research highlights how the Prophet ﷺ integrated practical learning with spiritual development, laying the foundation for a balanced educational approach that catered to the intellectual, moral, and social growth of individuals. By analysing historical examples, this paper proposes reforms that align modern educational systems with Islamic principles, offering a framework that fosters holistic development and societal harmony. The findings aim to provide valuable insights into adapting educational policies to meet the needs of contemporary Muslim societies, ensuring that they reflect the core values of justice, equity, and intellectual empowerment as exemplified in the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
